Must there be so many racist issues or religious misunderstandings?

Being a vegetarian since young means i dont have enough nutrients and my brain will react slower than the rest?


After hearing what my 6th aunt told us, i'm really fed-up.
I've got a cousin who is 12 years younger than me and she's currently studying at a student centre nearby. She's just like me, a vegetarian. Her mum, her 8 years old sister and her 3 month old baby sister are all vegetarians as well. Let me count, in my big family, i've got 6 aunts/uncles and 15 cousins and 4 nieces, out of 49 people, are all vegetarians.


So do we look like we're those that cannot think or react fast?


Back to my cousin, her chinese teacher had been nagging at her because of her work. Ok, i admit, that cousin of mine is really very lazy when comes to school work. But that teacher blamed my aunt for feeding my cousin up as a vegetarian. She said children shouldnt be a vegetarian at such young age as they will think and react very slow.


Come on, i'm also a vegetarian since young, and do i think and react slow?

The most unbelievable part was that, she had been telling my cousin that only by eating meat will make her think faster. Heyhey, she's just a 5 year old child and she dont even know anything. Oh ya, she even asked her maid to go home and tell my aunt to give my cousin meat. Even the maid dont agree with that teacher at all.


Today, cousin came over to my place in the morning and of course, my mum and i were the ones who brought her to school. Before leaving our house, my mum had already planned to go and look for that chinese teacher.

Eh, dont get the wrong idea, my mum just wanted to ask about my cousin's behaviour in school. Before meeting that chinese teacher, my mum went to look for her English teacher. Her English teacher said my cousin did pay attention, isnt talkative in class. But the only thing was, her speed in completing her work is quite slow.


After finding out from her English teacher, my mum went to look for that Chinese teacher. And my mum's first question was, "老师你好，我是**的阿姨. 我是想了解**在班上的状况，有没有专心还是很爱讲话? 因为我发现她的功课不是很好. (Hi teacher, i'm ** aunt. I'm just curious about **'s behaviour in class because her work isnt very good.) "

"哦，** 在班上其实安静，不会很鸡杂. (Oh, she's actually quite quiet in class) " That's what she replied.



And she continued, "可是有件事我想告诉你们. ** 是吃素的对吗? 其实你们不可以让她这样小就不吃肉，因为她写字没有力，走路也很慢. 所以这样她的头脑会很不灵活. 你们大人要吃素是可以，但是小孩子吃素很不好. (But there's sth i want to tell you, parents. She's a vegetarian right? Actually you all shouldnt let her be banned from meat, because she doesnt have the energy to write and walk. As a result, her mind will not be active at all. Children arent like adults, they arent suitable not to eat any meat at all.) "


Like what i said earlier, my mum was only discussing about my cousin's behaviour and didnt even asked her about the vegetarian thing. And it's true, that cousin of mine is lazy and she would purposely write very slowly, act as if she dont have any energy to do anything. Everyone of us knows what she's thinking.


Anyway, my mum asked her back, "Excuse me, teacher, is there any scientific evidence that proves a young vegetarian cannot react and think like a normal child?" And that teacher actually replied this and i was like..................WHAT?!



She said she's not saying that vegetarians are slow in thinking of what, and she said she's only refering that to my cousin. Of course, my purpose to go with my mum is because i wanted to prove her that i'm also vegetarian since i was born. And do i look inactive? Look like someone who cannot react fast?


But lucky the principal came in and understand the whole situation. The first thing the principal said was, "Eh teacher, you cant say this." And she invited my mum outside because that teacher was having lessons.

A few minutes later, that teacher came out, with a book on her hand. She came forward and showed my mum an exercise book of a student and said, "You see, when this student first came, he also cannot write properly. But after i taught him, he improved so much!"



Heyhey, my mum isnt criticising about your teaching.

In the end, she was chased back to continue her lessons by the principal.




Ok, maybe it's true, a vegetarian might not have very strong energy, but we cannot accept the fact that she actually asked a vegetarian child to eat more meat, if not the mind wont react fast.

She can say my cousin is lazy, but she cant keep asking my cousin to eat meat, and she said that everyday to my cousin. After the teacher had gone back for her lessons, my mum told the principal that she's actually afraid that from today on, that teacher would be bias towards my cousin. In the end, the principal said she will go talk to that teacher and settle everything.




Come on, before i was born, i'm already a vegetarian in my mum's womb. I can run, jump, study, and even fight in these 17 years!



Do we look like unactive youngsters?
